Memory Verse(s)

I mentioned in my last post that we have started this financial study at church.  Part of our weekly homework is to memorize scripture.  I have never been one who is good in scripture memorization but have pleasantly surprised myself.

Week #1 verse – “Therefore, if you have not been faithful in the use of worldly wealth, who will entrust the true riches to you?”  Luke 16:11

Week #2 verse(s) – “Everything in the heavens and earth are yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom.  We adore you as being in control of everything. Riches and honor come from you alone and you are the ruler of all mankind;  Your hand controls power and might and it is at your discretion that men are made great and given strength.”              I Chronicles 29:11-12

I am pleased blessed to say that I have successfully memorized each of the above AND so has hubby AND so has Madison (she’s 11 for those who don’t know).  Grace (who is 8) memorized week #1 with us but was intimidated by week 2.  It has been fun to go over the verses as a family.

Anyway…just wanted to share that for what it’s worth.

Blessings to you – K

  1. It’s very rewarding, isn’t it? One of the most rewarding spiritual disciplines I’ve ever tried, for the little I’ve been able to pin down.
